My sister and I did a taste-test, using a bottled tonic, another concentrate, and ElGuapo. The ElGuapo won! Lovely nuanced flavor and a non-traditional color. We have since tried with several gins, even an orange-flavored gin, and it holds up. I am a big fan of the syrups and bitters. I will try mixers now that I am convinced of the quality!

Quick service, tonic is great! Using with our soda stream to the perfect G&T

Just fantastic!! I am not a fan of Gin, I substituted Tower Vodka. Exceptional!!

It’s fresh and delicious!!!

Terrific flavor and all natural, what's not to like. Makes a great vodka (or gin) & tonic.

Love these syrups!

Absolutely delicious!

I have been using this tonic syrup for a few years now and absolutely love it. Excellent product. Gin, seltzer, syrup, perfect

Shipped quickly & packaged perfectly! And totally delicious!!!

I enjoy this with or without alcohol in a spritzer. Very tasty and refreshing. My son like a little in his Manhattans. The syrup actually tastes great on vanilla ice cream. I like the combination of bitter and citrus/sweet and sour.

This is awesome! It makes the most delicious tonic, and eliminates the extra transport weight/space of water! I will be keeping this on hand.

My father-in-law has an affinity for gin and tonics, so we ordered the tonic syrup to try something new. We incorporated the tonic syrup with gin and Topo Chico (lime) and he LOVED it! I highly recommend for a killer gin and tonic along with the simplicity of use!

This tonic syrup is great stuff! And I do not know of any equivalent alternative. We had one once, but that alternative went out of business.
We use this for gin & tonic and have stopped using quinine water. Use a gin with some flavor that you like, so it will show through. To a shaker fairly full of ice, add
3/4 oz tonic syrup
3 oz gin
Shake well & pour with ice into good sized glass. Add as much club soda it you want.

This stuff is amazing!

Delicious Gin and Tonic. Pairs well with a botanical gin.

I have been trying to drink less alcohol. I love this with crushed ice and water. The taste is great!

Good stuff! Applies a whole new dimension to a Gin & Tonic. Don’t think I could ever go back and use the carbonated tonic water again. Definitely will buy again.

I added this to my order of orgeat and bitters because my wife loves gin & tonics. The tonic syrup is really good, maybe even too good, those G & Ts went down fast and often. Citrus and herbal/floral. We will buy again, maybe this stuff needs to come in gallon jugs.

Best Tonic syrup I’ve ever tried

Completely unexpected! Gin and Tonic has been my drink of choice for many years and El Guapo Tonic syrup has added an entirely new dimension to my all time favorite.

I use and enjoy The British Colonial style Tonic Bitters syrup. I consider it more than a refreshment, but a "health" enhancement, due to its ingredients valuable to holistic wellness, when used in moderation. This indeed was the historical purpose of cinchona and citrus preparations for naval members travelling in tropical climes, as early as the 16th century. The combination with juniper-berry laced gin or even spiced rum, gave the necessary inducement to sailors to take the otherwise bitter & sour, and the addition of cane sugar helped as well. Cinchona is a well-studied ionophor for bio-available dietary zinc, found in shellfish and beans among other foods. The combination does indeed battle parasitic lving organisms and even viral parasites, at the inner-cell level. So, eat well, enjoy your tonic and celebrate wellness. I'd like to thank Connie and staff for prompt and cordial rectification of a shipping/fulfillment error that was entirely inadvertent. I highly recommend this product and this company, and share the link with many friends. To your health and enjoyment, Slàinte Mhaith!

Lovely tonic syrup get for mixing up fresh gin and tonics! Best thing you choose the calorie level in the mix.

This was a taste test of gin & tonic using Polar tonic water (winner of the America’s Test Kitchen tonic water test) vs El Guapo and Polar Seltzer Water (winner of the ATK seltzer water test). We used Tanqueray as the standard gin. El Gaupo was the winner hands down!
El Guapo was smoother, was not as sweet and stayed tart after drinking 2-3 gin & tonics (it was a good night!)
We also tried vodka tonics with Tito’s for my wife - a gin hater, vodka lover. It was the same results.
Moral of the story.....don’t use tonic water! El Guapo + a great seltzer is the answer!
Let me know if you want more insight.

The tonic syrup was great for our Christmas Eve cocktails! Only recommendation would be to have the measurements in teaspoons/tablespoons rather than ounces. Thanks!

Absolutely the best tonic ever I prefer it with gin and a twist of lime. Perfection

I love this stuff!!! The only way to drink GT's

There's something about mixing my own tonic. Having a G&T that I made from scratch is very satisfying.
SCOTT K.
This is the best for mixing the perfect gin & tonic.

The Tonic Syrup is amazing with some soda, gin and lime... and we recently discovered it is a fantastic balm for wildfire smoked sore throats here in Washington State. We added a splash to a cup of hot water and that NOLA love soothed like a champ. Stay safe down there y'all and thanks for the comfort.

El Guapo, Hendrick's, cucumber and soda. The PERFECT gin and tonic!!!

What a special find! Goes perfectly with Gin and club soda to make a really nice summertime drink! My new favorite!

I found these by accident, looking for how to make my own, but thought to give this a try as an easier, faster, and economical alternative. This tonic is delicious and my husband and I love that we can adjust the amount of syrup we use. I like about a tablespoon per an 8 oz glass of carbonated water and it is delicious and I can actually taste the good and expensive gin we like to drink. Cheap tonic covers up the flavor of really lovely gin; thank you for making a truly delicious alternative to store bought tonic. We have now bought bottles as gifts for all the gin drinkers we know.
David J.
I tried other Tonic Syrups, but El Guapo is by far the best. My problem is it is gone too fast. Besides this review I believe the greatest compliment is to order more, which I'm going to do right now. Thanks for a great product.
Curtis C.
Great product! Delivered as scheduled.

I’ve been making my own tonic with cinchona bark for years – but now I can just order this awesome stuff and get back to drinking. Great bitter notes with a citric kick, well done.

This stuff is Awesome....!

I first bought El Guapo Tonic Syrup at a coffee shop in Algiers Point. Now that I found your website I don't have to wait till my next trip down from ATL. The best Gin Tonics I've ever made hands down!
Adam A.
I bought this for my wife for her birthday, she enjoys a good gin and tonic. I used the syrup and the cucumber lavender bitters to make the drink. My says it was one of the best gin and tonics she has ever had. I must agree so good and easy to drink .
Elizabeth E.
This is early evening sun highlighting an empty bottle of El Guapo Tonic Syrup, and a half drunk cocktail. (I wasn't yet drunk.) I've enjoyed it quite a lot!

In my 72 years I have had a few gin and tonics. I've used a number of different bottled tonic waters and tried a few syrups. These folks have outdone themselves. If I've had a better gin and tonic, it's lost in the mists of time. My half dozen visits to New Orleans over the years have been among my favorite trips, so I should have known this would be good, Great stuff!
NANETTE S.
Good flavor, we add it to sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon. We like the ingredients, especially that there is no high fructose corn syrup. Our orders come packaged very professionally and arrive in good condition and we like the tamper evident safety seal on all of the bottles. Thank you! Keep up the good work!
JOYCE C.
This Tonic syrup is delicious. It's vibrant, it goes a long way, it's balanced in bitter, tart and sweet, not overwhelmed with spice, just right. I use Canfield Club Soda and Beefeaters 24. You have spoiled me. Showing it to friends and family, they are intrigued. Looking to entertain them soon with this excellent Tonic Syrup. BTW a dropper full on a little vanilla ice cream is very nice.
Amy B.
Your Tonic Syrup makes the most wonderfully authentic Gin and Tonic. The amber pink color is delightful, and the flavor complex. El Guapo Tonic Syrup makes a beautiful craft cocktail!
julia d.
Thanks we love it and wish we were in New Orleans now!
Kerry M.
I bought this to try, as my usual Fever Tree Light has been unavailable during the pandemic. Exceeded my expectations. Following the recipe on the bottle for gin & tonic, tried it both ways: Using 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz. 1/4 oz seems to taste just fine. The key is using a good sparkling water with hard and persistent bubbles. I recommend this tonic syrup--the best I've tried so far! Can you make it with even less sugar, please?
paul b.
Great company, high quality product!!
Brennan J.
Made some super tasty gin and tonics with this using recipe provided on the bottle. Very happy with this syrup!

Superb libation mixer-served at a lovely second wedding reception-
for us older folks with refined tastes.

I've tried a couple of brands of tonic syrup and I like this one the best. For a great (and healthy) nonalcoholic cocktail, mix diet tonic, El Guapo tonic syrup, and orange juice.
Marie C.
I’ll never buy another tonic syrup again. Husband bought this & is amazing... literally the only thing keeping us sane during quarantine.
